In October, Chicken Soup for the Soul: Best Cat Ever launched. I was happy to have a story titled “Not a Cat Person” included in this anthology. I’d always thought of myself as a dog person, until a stray cat we named Smokey came along…
I also attended my second Can*Con conference in Ottawa. Like the last time, there were
lots of good panels and I came home re-energized. Many thanks to the conference
organizers and all of the wonderful panelists who, by sharing their own
experiences, provided both inspiration and ideas.
The event also was
the venue for the launch of Volume 4 of the Year’s Best Canadian Fantasy and
Science Fiction, edited by Stephen Kotowych. Thanks to Stephen for
including my poem “At the Spaceport Bar” in this anthology, and for taking on
this project.

What I’m Working On
I continue to have a number of book reviews in the works, as well as
working on editing Slapshots in Space
and Magical Marathons, an anthology of
sport-themed fiction and poetry with a speculative underpinning.
